Okay, fans of the vertical bar, riddle me this:
Black on gray:
Or gray on lighter gray:
I also changed the direction of the words, can’t decide if they should face in or out, though I’m leaning toward facing in for some reason.
ETA, for Lucie, white on gray:
I prefer black on grey, stands out more, and facing in.
Not a fan of the vertical bar. But especially not a fan of the reverse vertical bar you used with the gray on gray. White on gray would be much more contrasting.
Well, I'm going for low contrast. Like, I want the branding, but when I tried it with white and the white pulls away from the rest of the cover. Gray was too low, but black might work for me. Ish.
Grey on lighter grey as a first choice, white on grey as a distant second choice. Black on grey LAST (as you can tell I feel very strongly about this.) I like facing out, but this preference isn't as strong.
(Three comments, three completely different reactions – very helpful I'm sure!)
Hm, the first or third for me… Gray on gray is really hard to read and would just annoy me as a poor design decision (why have it there if the reader can't tell what it is?)
Update: designer husband says the black on gray is best, and white on gray is too distracting.
Hope that helps!
