[Sorry, guys. Didn’t get a chance to make the video on my usual recording day, but it’ll be up in about…nine, ten hours. (I know, I know, sorry! But that’s when I’ll be at work and able to make video!)]
Video!
Macky and Mo over at Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews reviewed each episode of LRBB. If you’re game, read The Pit review here.
Feelings, nothing more than feeeeeeelings. I don’t know, do we consider Bad redeemed after this? Did the scene in the alley push Red too far, and should he have stopped it? Or do you buy that it wasn’t the scene that overwhelmed him, it was how much he wanted it?

I liked this episode, it came from Red's view point and how he comes to terms with liking what Bad does to him, that he needs it. I think Red was a bit over whelmed at the end of the last episode and wanted the time out until he got it and then missed the attention from Bad. It shows what a good friend Pol is to Red helping him get a it of perspective on his relationship with Bad.
Bad will never be a favourite character of mine, still too full of himself. The talk was needed, they both had to re-establish their positions. Red willingly taking the punishment. Was the choice of location convenience or was it a message that Red could be used an thrown away like the garbage to be recycled.
Hope this making sense, I'm a bit dozy this evening!
I do believe that Red was overwhelmed, but it was Bad's responsibility to catch that. Communication is not Bad's strong suit. At all. I'm reading Tough Love right now and thinking about the differences between Steve Vance and Bad. I think Bad's got some growing to do (though we do see some glimmers now and then.)
I agree Bad is not quite bumbling along in the dark but he is far from a Dom that has honed his skill. He has pushed responsibility further on to Red by telling him not to let him(Bad) do anything Red doesn't want, but hasn't quite understood that he should be reading Red to stop it getting to that stage. Maybe I'm being too hard and they haven't been together long enough for Bad to able to read Red.
dinaw I fucking love Tough Love! But I can't actually talk about it in relation to your comment without spoilers, so I'll refrain.
I will say I disagree. Red and Bad are equal partners; both are on the hook for the exact same amount of communication, and I'm anti-mindreading in relationships as a general rule. (Reason number 732 why Kris is single.) I'm also anti-omniscient-tops in fiction, but Surrender the Past is probably my big preachy book on that subject.
Mm, Tough Love. Might be time for (another) re-read.
Oh re-reads, the intention is always there but I get sidetracked by shinny new books. At least Bad is showing potential, a caring side, fleeting but it was still there.
KrisRipper dinaw I'm assuming you mean spoilers for Tough Love. I've put it down for the day as I've been drawn into reading something else for the moment, but I'm loving it (and the whole series) so far.
KrisRipper Ok – finished TL. I get it know 🙂 And since I'm now in between books I've been poking through your goodreads bookshelf looking for recommendations. Then I got drawn into rating your books – and getting quite indignant that someone only gave STP 2 stars! How is that possible?
Do you think Red would notice if I stole those John Barrowman clips?
On a more serious note I like this episode, the extra insight into Red's head makes it all far less uncomfortable to read.
dinaw KrisRipper Let's assume they had a childhood incident that put them off fedoras for life, and the reference to Bernie's hat was just too much. Yeah, that's it.
